Alas Arum - One of the first catering to western tastes, they stock a sampling of everything. Location is on Sanur and Seminyak area.
Bintang - Shop in air-conditioned comfort with a choice of food, household items, art supplies and children's toys. Location is on the downtown of Seminyak area.
Gelael - Offering fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy products. Location is on Jalan Raya Kuta 105.
Matahari - Located on the lower floor of the Matahari stores, a good source for dry goods.
Pepito - Supermarket that offers a wide selection of fresh produce and grocery items as well as prepared meals, salads and sandwiches. Location is on Jalan Kediri Tuban Bali.
Tragia - A slightly upmarket mini market, a quick stop for a few provisions. Location is on Jalan By Pass Nusa Dua, Nusa Dua Galleria and Jalan Diponegoro, Denpasar Bali.
Cheap Shopping Places in Bali
When you have a vacation in Bali, you should not forget for one thing: Shopping! Yes it is one of a must that you must done when you are in Bali for your holiday or business. How could this be? Because on every road you are passing from airport to your hotel, and from your hotel to many places of interest in Bali you would like to visit, they are all there.
Whether they are an art shops, boutiques or art galleries complete with their interesting products ready for you to be shopped. The location is between Sanur and Ubud, but closes to Sanur for about 15 minutes drive. At this market they will find many products such as cloths, handicrafts, beads or other hand made in a very cheap price. Yes they are very cheap!
The foreigner is rarely comes to this market as, first, this place is not popular among them, the place is crowded especially on Indonesian national holiday. Secondly, the tour guide will never bring their guests here as they will not receive any commission when the guest make some transactions there. There is no commission as the price itself is already cheap.
Another cheap place for shopping is located in Kuta area, Pasar Seni Kuta (Kuta Art Market) which is easier to reach by car rental. Just like in Sukawati Art Market, you can make a bargain for the price for all products. If you smart enough in bargain, you can bring home that excellent stuffs in a very cheap price. Do not fooled with the opening price they offered, convinced your self that price must be able to be bargained.
The market is situated in Kuta area, close to Kuta Square. Although this traditional market standing between branded outlets surrounding it, the market never miss for the opportunity to show it existence.
