Just close from Bali island, there is an island which called ‘Bali 10 years ago’. Yes, that island is Lombok island. Lombok island located at the east side of Bali island. By plane, it will need take for about 30 minutes only. By ferry (via Padangbai harbour) it will take about 5 hours. The beach and the panorama at Lombok is beautiful just like in Bali. However, around Lombok island, there are other 3 small islands called Gili: Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air. These are the most interesting place to visit by most tourist in Lombok.
 Gili in Sasak language has the meaning of ‘pulau kecil’. In English it mean small island. And Gili Trawangan is the biggest island from these 3 Gili’s. Here most of the tourist stay, because there are so many option for the accommodation, from the most cheap one to the luxurious one. Also, there are many room to be rented available, in the citizens house.
While Gili Meno and Gili Air is smaller than Gili Trawangan, these 2 places is great for the tourist who looking for more private and sleepy. These small island also has some white sandy private beaches, and all of them are very beautiful. For those who is under their honeymoon holiday, these place is a great place to stay.
Why these 3 Gili’s is very popular among the travelers ? Because they are also can do some other activities here: such as diving, snorkeling, or just do some lazy things at the beach. Seeing the sunset can do also here. The biggest one, Gili Trawangan has complete facility. No motor bike or car allowed here. So the area is very peaceful: no machine but nature only.
Special information, when you are in Bali and have been renting a car rental, and if you want to reach Gili’s via Padangbai harbour, you can return your car rental at Padangbai harbour. Usually there is additional charge to collect the car there by the rental car company.
